Easy Game Day Recipe
Need new and easy game day recipes to celebrate football season? These Football Burgers will be the perfect addition to any Sunday afternoon.
Football Season Entertaining
Fall is here, and that means football Sundays! I love this time of year because nothing is better than being able to get together with friends on a Sunday afternoon, and it means more opportunities for super easy entertaining! Being able to gather like this and make memories is so so fun. Plus, it gives me a chance to make fun food! I am all about new football party recipes, but this one is definitely one of my new favorites! These Football Burgers are my new obsession. They are homemade and prep is super easy, and they are just so cute. We are definitely kicking off football season the right way in this house!
Homemade Burgers
We hosted our first football game day party of the season last Sunday, so that meant we got to prep all the food! I love every time we are able to host, and especially now because I have an excuse to be out on our new back porch grilling! One of my favorite football party recipes is burgers, so of course we had to get out the grill and cook a new recipe, but I also incorporated a few fun game day accessories to style our table. It doesn’t have to be hard to put together a game day spread. Just a few great recipe staples and fun decorations can go such a long way!
Homemade Burger Recipe
I was so excited we had another opportunity to bust out the grill again. We got our Nexgrill from The Home Depot earlier this year, and we have been having so much fun trying out new recipes on it! It has made life so much simpler and fun! This grill is exclusively at The Home Depot, and they actually delivered it free right to our house! They do free delivery when you buy online, or even free assembly for in-store purchases. Andy cannot stop talking about it!
How to Make Flavorful Burgers
To make these football burgers, you just need a few ingredients. First, you’ll need 3 lbs. of ground beef, sliced tomato, a head of lettuce, 1 pack of white American cheese, 1 pack of yellow American cheese, salt and pepper for seasoning, and 6 oval rolls. That’s it!
How to Make Burger Patties
First, preheat the Nexgrill to medium-high. Then, season the ground beef with salt and pepper. Use your hands and form the ground beef into football shaped patties, and grill these burgers for 4-5 minutes on each side. While the burgers are grilling, cut each of the rolls in half. Also, cut and place the white American cheese slices for the laces and lines of the football, and put them on each side of the football shaped rolls. Next, layer lettuce, tomatoes, and the yellow American cheese on the bottom roll of each bun. Once the burgers are grilled, place them on top of those ingredients and place the top bun on! Now you are ready for the game!
Game Day Party
We ended up serving these with all of our other easy game day favorites! I made super simple deviled eggs and potato salad, and we put chips in bowls on the side. I used a fun football banner for the table and found letters at Hobby Lobby to spell out “Game Day” and grabbed green forks and plates to match the table runner. So easy to throw together for the afternoon!
