Make this EASY Leprechaun Bait recipe for St. Patrick’s Day! This Leprechaun Bait includes Lucky Charms and Popcorn, which is the perfect salty and sweet combination!

A person in a green shirt holds a clear bowl filled with leprechaun bait—popcorn mixed with green and blue candy. The enticing mix features small, round coated candies alongside other sweet pieces scattered among the popcorn.

Easy Popcorn Dessert

You know how much I LOVE salty and sweet! This St. Patrick’s Day Popcorn, AKA “Leprechaun Bait,”  is the ideal mixture because the saltiness from the popcorn mixes well with the butter and marshmallows. This Leprechaun Bait is SO easy to throw together in minutes – perfect for a party, a movie night at home, or even paired with a Shamrock Shake. ;)

A clear bowl of popcorn, perfect for leprechaun bait, is surrounded by ingredients: white marshmallows, green candies, pastel cereal shapes, a stick of butter on a plate, and a small bowl of green sprinkles. A Pop Secret package and a striped cloth complete the inviting scene.

Plus, it’s so easy the kids can help me make this easy Saint Patrick’s Day dessert in no time!

Only a Few Ingredients

This Leprechaun Bait recipe is super easy to make and only involves a few ingredients! First, pop the popcorn in the microwave.

A person pours melted butter from a measuring cup into a bowl of mini marshmallows, preparing irresistible leprechaun bait. A small bowl of green candies awaits in the background, completing the magical mix.

Mix the marshmallows in the melted butter and microwave them for 30 seconds or until it is melted and stir.

A person stirs white chocolate in a bowl with a spoon, crafting the perfect leprechaun bait. Around the bowl sit containers of colorful cereal pieces, green candies, and a dish of popcorn, all displayed on a pristine white surface.

Add butter + marshmallow mixture to your popcorn to make this super easy leprechaun bait… wait, but there’s one more step!

A glass dish filled with popcorn and a wooden spoon is held by two hands. Nearby, small bowls brim with pastel marshmallows and green candies, resembling colorful leprechaun bait, suggesting preparation for a festive snack or party.

Turning Popcorn into a Dessert

Pour the popcorn into a baking dish and pour ¾ of the melted marshmallow mixture over the popcorn.

Two hands clutch a jar and a handful of leprechaun bait, colorful cereal marshmallows shaped like stars, hearts, and clovers. Below lies a tray of popcorn. The person sports a green sleeve, adding to the whimsical scene.

It wouldn’t be a SUCCESSFUL leprechaun trap without Lucky Charms… making it the ultimate Leprechaun Bait recipe! ;)

Drizzle and Sprinkle

Next, drizzle the remaining marshmallow mixture over the popcorn. Sprinkle the M&M’s, Lucky Charms marshmallows, and green sprinkles over the popcorn, then mix. Place the popcorn into a bowl and place the bowl into the freezer or refrigerator to cool for 20 minutes. Add more M&M’s on top if you’d like. Then the Leprechaun Bait is ready to serve!
