Breakfast Ideas
What’s one of your favorite traditions from when you were a kid?! Mine was always pancake mornings! My mom would surprise us on any random day with pancakes for breakfast, and it was the sweetest way to kick off the day! I’ve been having so much fun continuing that tradition in my own home, and I’m so excited to share one of my new favorite flavor combinations for pancakes with you!
Let’s face it, everything pairs well with pancakes. Whether you’re piling your stack of pancakes high with fresh fruit, whipped cream and berries, chocolate sauce, you name it – you can’t go wrong! My new favorite combination is Nutella, bananas, and pecans. But part of that is all about starting with a good base. It’s all about building on that great flavor!
Best Pancake Mix
One of my favorite on-hand pantry staples is Krusteaz pancake mix. I always keep it in the house. Just like my mom did for me growing up, I love to surprise the kids with pancakes on the days they least expect it. It puts such a big smile on their face when they get to have pancakes before school on a weekday morning!
My mom always had Krusteaz mix on hand at home too, and that blue box definitely became familiar. We always knew when it was out on the counter, it was going to be a good day! And over the years, the mix has stayed just as consistent, helping me making delicious pancakes every time without any artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives in the mix.
Ingredients for Pancakes
Making pancakes in the morning with Krusteaz pancake mix is seriously so quick and easy! All you need to make pancakes is the mix and water. Then, make sure you have your toppings all ready for when your pancakes are done. It’s that simple!
How to Make Pancakes
To make pancakes, all you have to do is whisk together the Krusteaz pancake mix and water. Be sure to follow the ingredient measurements on the box for the number of pancakes you want.
How to Cook Pancakes
Heat your griddle to 375 degrees (or medium heat) and lightly grease it. Once the griddle is at the proper temperature, pour about ¼ cup of batter onto the griddle. Let the pancakes cook for 1 to 1 ½ minutes on the griddle. Flip your pancakes once the tops start to bubble and the bottoms are golden brown. That way, you know your pancakes are ready! Stack your cooked pancakes, and add Nutella, sliced bananas, and pecans on top. Then, drizzle with syrup if desired!
Best Pancake Toppings
Ever since I was little, pancakes have been one of my absolute favorite foods, and that tradition is going strong in our house! The kids get so excited when I bring out that blue box of pancake mix just like my mom did for us. And their imagination goes wild on what toppings they’ll add!
