These Patriotic Flower Pretzel Bites are one of my favorite easy party treats! They’re sweet, crunchy, colorful, and so much fun to make, which makes them perfect for summer gatherings and Fourth of July celebrations.

Why I Keep Making These Patriotic Pretzel Bites

I’m a HUGE fan of red, white, and blue snacks that are fast and simple, and that’s exactly why these pretzel flowers were created.
I grabbed a bag of pretzels, some candy melts, and red, white, and blue M&M’s and let my creativity flow.
The kids LOVED them and even asked if they could join the next batch to help make them!
One of my favorite things about this recipe is that it uses only three ingredients, and the flower shapes make them feel extra special for summer parties and holiday celebrations.
Sometimes the simplest recipes end up being the most memorable, and these were definitely one of those surprises. Hope you love them as much as we did!
Why You’ll Love This 4th of July Pretzel Bites
So much kitchen fun happens when making these! I love that it turns into a little kitchen moment. Sorting the M&M’s and planning colors somehow becomes half the fun of these flower pretzel bites.
They’re an instant hit, so it’s not a bad idea to double or even triple the recipe if you have all the ingredients handy.
Once you get the hang of making this patriotic snack, it’ll be a must-make yearly tradition!
You can also make them for any holiday or get-together by just switching out the color of the M&M’s.

Red White Blue Pretzel Bites Ingredients
Just 3 simple ingredients are needed to make these yummy patriotic treats!
Butter Snap Pretzels – I LOVE the buttery, salty contrast.
Red White and Blue Mix M&M’s – These are available during the summer months.
White candy melts – You could also use blue!

How To Make Flower Pretzel Bites
1. Preheat and prep
Preheat your oven to 225°F and spread the pretzel snaps out on a baking sheet in even rows. It already starts looking cute at this stage, just saying.
2. Plan your flowers
Sort the M&M’s by color and take a minute to plan your flower designs. I like doing a quick little “mock-up” so I know what I’m aiming for once things get melty.
3. Add the candy melts
Place one candy melt on top of each pretzel snap. Simple step, but this is where everything starts coming together.
4. Quick bake
Bake for about 3 minutes, just until the candy melts soften and start to look glossy. Keep an eye on them because they go from perfect to too melted pretty fast.
5. Make the flowers
Now the fun part! Working quickly, press the M&M’s into the softened candy melts, starting from the center and building out the petals. It moves fast here, so don’t overthink it.
6. Chill to set
Pop the tray in the fridge or freezer for about 5 minutes so everything sets completely. (This is usually when I start feeling very proud of myself for making something this cute so quickly!)
7. Serve and enjoy
That’s it! Your little M&M pretzel flowers are ready to go. I love setting these out right before a party and watching them get picked off the tray one by one.
Tips for making these 4th of July Pretzel Bites
🩷 Have fun! Don’t overthink the process, and move quickly. You’re not going for perfect here!
🩷If you want to use different pretzels, you can. There are plenty of options at the store, so have fun and pick out what works best.
🩷Don’t forget that these can be made year-round. Change the colors for Christmas flower bites, Halloween pretzel snacks, and more!
How to Store
Once these patriotic snacks are made, store them in an airtight container to keep them fresh. You can store them at room temperature. If you’re worried about layering them, just put a piece of parchment paper between the layers and you’ll be fine.
